What it is
Nebbiolo from vines just outside the Barolo boundary, which is the only reason it is not twice the price. Aged two years in old oak, so the wood is a texture rather than a flavour.
It is tight on opening. Decant it an hour ahead, or buy two and forget one for five years.
Drink it with
Slow-cooked beef, or a hard cheese with some age on it.
